Danny D. Howell, age 79, Peru, formerly of Logansport, passed away peacefully at 8:26 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, in his residence.

Born December 16, 1942, in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Loren and Mildred Hunt Powell. He was married to Mary Ann Trinkle Howell, who preceded him in death October 5, 2014.

Danny retired as a conductor for the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed IU basketball, fishing and golfing.

Surviving are daughters, Karen (Darroll) Dickerson, Denver, Indiana, Lisa Cress, Peru; sons, Kyle Howell, Wabash, Steven (Cassandra) Howell, Peru; brothers, Jack (Sue) Howell, New Market, Indiana, and Frank Howell, Peru.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Michael Pitman, Nicholas Cress, Kayla Dickerson, Kelli (Tyler) Shawver, William Dickerson, Holly Brown, Kylei Brown; great grandchildren, Parker Platt and Kadence Shawver; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jack Cress, two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Kroeger Funeral Home.

The burial is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Logansport, with the funeral procession leaving from Kroeger Funeral Home at 2:15 p.m.
