Mr. Douglas 'Tim' Self

<p><strong>Douglas &#39;Tim&#39; Self, age 80, of Del Rio, met his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. He was strong in his faith and loved singing and being involved in his church.</strong></p> <p><strong>He enjoyed working in his flowers and was known for his beautiful yard, which was enjoyed by many family members and friends. He also loved to travel and visited all 48 states.</strong></p> <p><strong>He retired from Sonoco in 2001, having taught in the local school system prior to this.</strong></p> <p><strong>He was preceded in death by his parents, Ada and Walter Self, sister Oree Cagle, and brothers Roy Self and Clifford Self.</strong></p> <p><strong>He is survived by his sister Opal Carlisle, cousin Mark Grigsby, special niece Sandra Cagle, a host of other nieces and nephews, many friends and his church family at Jones Chapel.</strong></p> <p><strong>Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 13, at Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Receiving of Friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Vickie Moore and Rev. Mel Hawkins will be officiating.</strong></p> <p><strong>The family with gather for burial at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, at Clark Cemetery in Del Rio with Rev. Obituary

Douglas 'Tim' Self, age 80, of Del Rio, met his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. He was strong in his faith and loved singing and being involved in his church.

He enjoyed working in his flowers and was known for his beautiful yard, which was enjoyed by many family members and friends. He also loved to travel and visited all 48 states.
