It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the unexpected passing of Robert "Bob" Chlan in Port Renfrew, British Columbia at the age of 73. He was heading off to do what he was passionate about - fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Reta (Bellamy) Chlan. Together they resided in Prince George, Victoria, and most recently Nanaimo (30+ years). He is also survived by his mother, Edith Chlan; and his siblings Myrna, Wray, Richard (Nancy), and Kathryn. He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Chlan. Bob was a generous dedicated man who enjoyed his large extended family, including all his numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, in both his and Reta’s family.

Bob was born and raised in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He started his working career in high school as a miner, commercial fisherman and farmhand. Bob will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a fiercely passionate fisherman, curler, golfer, gardener, hunter, and cook. His handyman skills and green thumb showed in his love of his home. He also played hockey in his younger days in Flin Flon.
