Raymond J. Pulcini
 
I was born April 6, 1950 and left this earth on August 11, 2022. In life I was a very lucky man.

I had a feisty wife Christine Marie who wasn’t afraid to help me with various household and outdoor projects. She is a hard worker with a big heart, and I loved her. She was my best friend. She was my “babe.”
Together we raised our two wonderful children Michael and Melissa who grew into very special, socially conscious, responsible adults. I was always so proud of them. I had to be careful not to brag about them.

Like me, they too found amazing others to share their lives with: Mina and Joo. Great additions to our family, they fit right in.
The most special and spectacular persons I had the pleasure of knowing during my life were my grandchildren Nathan and Andrew. I hit the lottery with those two “little men.”
I was supported by great friends, loving parents and brothers, and an extended caring family. The dogs and cats that came into my life were remarkable. Like I said earlier, I was a lucky man—which is why I wanted to write my own obituary. Perhaps others will see wealth should not be defined in financial terms. I was so very rich, and I got to live the way I wanted to.
I didn’t want a viewing, funeral, coffin, grave, gravestone, etc.

There will be a celebration of life. Come if you like, smile, laugh, remember. Do not dress up! If you feel the need to do something more conventional, you can make a donation to your local SPCA or the Shriners Children’s Hospital.

Raymond J. Pulcini, 72, of Harding, passed away at home on August 11, 2022.
Born in Easton, he was the son of Amelia Grucela Pulcini, Martins Creek, and the late Primo Pulcini.

Raymond was a graduate of Pius X High School and Clarion State College. He worked as an assistant service director for Step By Step Social Services, retiring in 2016 after 27 years of service.

Earlier in life, he served as a volunteer firefighter and was a beloved soccer coach. He was also a hunter, fisherman, gardener, and mentor to many.

Like his father, he was a devoted Detroit Tigers fan. He often talked about the Tigers games he attended at Comerica Park with his son.

He also loved the Minnesota Vikings, and he greatly enjoyed reading, westerns, history, and solving the problems of the world over a campfire and a beer.

He loved cooking, and he always had dinner ready waiting for his wife when she came home from work.

He was so excited when his future son-in-law asked for his permission for his daughter’s hand in marriage that he told several members of the family (including his daughter) within minutes, months before the actual proposal.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, the former Christine Kopp; children, Michael (Mina), Fairport, N.Y., and Melissa (Joohyun Lee) Pulcini, Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Nathan and Andrew Pulcini; brothers, Ronald (Rita) Pulcini, Nazareth, and Roger (Sally), Forks Township; aunts, Mary Lucci and Connie Ruszin; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
