Retha Mae Bryant DANVILLE – Retha Mae Brown Bryant, 90 of Carden Rd., passed peacefully Wednesday August 10, 2022, in an Augusta hospital, surrounded by her family. Services will be held 2:00pm Saturday August 13, 2022 at Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Elders Dan Bryant, Sam Bryant and Garry Hall will officiate. Mrs. Bryant was born in Twiggs County the daughter of the late William Ollie Brown and Lillie Mae Pope Brown. She was the widow of the late Charles Aaron Bryant, her husband of 681/2 years and was preceded in death by her siblings Mildred Brown, Laverne Moss, John “JW” Brown, Hoyt Brown, daughter in law Martha Bryant and great grandchild, Carter Wood. Mrs. Bryant was a member of Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church, and was a 1949 graduate of Danville High School where she was the Valedictorian. She was a homemaker and loved her family and church. Survivors include her sons, Charles Faron Bryant, John D. Bryant (Lois), Tracy Bryant (Elaine) and James Bryant. Grandchildren, Larry Bryant (Rebecca), Kelli Bryant, Danielle Rowland (Reggie), John Aaron Bryant (Hailee), Dustin Bryant (Whitney), Heather Wood (B.J.), and Alyssa Jones (Rusty). 13 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00pm – 2:00pm before the service at Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church. Visit www.reecefuneralhomeinc.com to express tributes.
