Patricia "Pat" Ann Eakins

<p>Patricia Ann &ldquo;Pat&rdquo; Eakins, 72, of Niles, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 4:45 pm at West Wood of Niles Nursing Facility in Niles. She was born on March 25, 1950 in Ft. Payne, Alabama to the late Annie Lois (Eakins) Steele.</p> <p>Surviving Pat are her&nbsp;daughters Mary Ann (Larry) Sipe of Buchanan, MI and Rachel Wilson of Edwardsburg; son James Spry, also of Edwardsburg;&nbsp;brother Howard Bradford, also of Michigan; a sister, Janie Odom, of Goshen; and seven grandchildren. Preceding her in death are grandparents Jessie and Samuel Eakins.</p> <p>Patty spent most of her time waiting tables and working in housekeeping in several different area office complexes. She was also a devout Christian lady, and loved to attend Kessington Community Church, where she would teach children&rsquo;s Sunday school and also sit on the church&rsquo;s board of directors. She also enjoyed bowling, especially in leagues, and loved to watch her kids bowl as well. Other interests included listening to the Bill Gaither Gospel Hour, going out for lunch with her friends, shopping and doing arts and crafts. She also enjoyed being barefoot and hardly ever wore shoes.</p> <p>Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Patty&rsquo;s name may do so by making a gift to the Kessington Community Church.
