Obituary

Richard Lee Eliyas, 73, passed away on Monday, August 8th, 2022, at his home, with his loving wife, Tina, at his side.  He was born on August 18th, 1948, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Mike and Leona (Ludy) Eliyas.

On December 28th, 1992, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, he married Tina Perkins, who survives. Also surviving is one son, James (Holly) Eliyas and 3 grandchildren of Fort Wayne; one brother, Jim Eliyas of Terre Haute; as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Eliyas.

Richard worked in engineering for various automotive suppliers for many years.  He retired in 2014.

Richard was a devoted husband.  He loved spending time with Tina watching movies, RVing, and working in the yard together.  Richard enjoyed wine tasting and eating finer foods.  He was a hard worker and a dependable provider.

Richard was a forgiving man, had a deep love for the Bible, and shared that love with others, when he could.  He had a great sense of humor and loved clowning around.  Richard loved to teach and mentor those around him.  He was a peacemaker and believed in the vast potential of others, to a fault.  Richard enjoyed joking with strangers and making people smile wherever he went, but he kept his world on the smaller side, staying close to a select few.  That small circle will miss him dearly.

Special thanks to Center for Hospice Care nurses for the support they compassionately provided.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family c/o Tina Eliyas, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350.

Condolences may be shared online at www.CutlerCares.com.
