Anita "Laiya" Domsky passed away peacefully on August 9, 2022 at 73 years old after a year-long struggle with cancer. She is survived by her daughter Beth Domsky and grandson, Isaac Domsky and friends around the world. Laiya was born on October 1, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Reba Blatt. She was an only child and was active in United Synagogue Youth throughout her teen years. She received an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and a Masters in Family Therapy from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. She married the love of her life, Alan Domsky, a medical resident while in her early 20s. Alan passed away from cancer in 1974, when their daughter, Beth was only several months old. Laiya raised Beth as a single mother in the Philadelphia area while building a successful therapy practice. Laiya lived in Santa Fe, NM and South Florida before settling in the Northeast, spending time in Vermont, Bar Harbor and the York, Maine area. In addition to being a skilled therapist, Laiya was an avid seeker of spiritual wisdom, a student of traditional Jewish folk healing and a teacher and practitioner of forest bathing. She felt a particular affinity for the Jewish renewal communities of Santa Fe and Boulder. CO Jewish renewal leader Rabbi Zalman Schachter- Shalomi.
