He lived in Hyde Park with his three sisters before moving to Mansfield, MA where he attended school from grade three through high school graduation. After graduation, Edmund served his country in the United States Army fighting in the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he continued his studies at Fisher Community College earning an Associate Degree in business then went on to Pima Community College graduating with a degree in computer science. He married Frances Ellen Cronin in Whitefield, NH on August 7, 1982. After they moved to Tucson, AZ, Ed managed an elementary school computer lab. After their daughter Bonnie Elizabeth was born, they moved back to Massachusetts to be closer to their extended families. They settled in Mansfield Massachusetts where their daughter attended school. For most of his career, Ed managed the technology and computers at Attleboro Public Library. He also enjoyed working in carpentry and landscaping.

Edmund loved traveling within the United States, making numerous cross-country trips, missing only visiting Hawaii which was on his bucket list.
