JoAnne Slepski

JoAnne Slepski, age 81 of Gallatin, passed away August 6, 2022. Mrs. Slepski was born August 26, 1940 in Hammond, IN, daughter of the late Anthony and Irene Kowandy.  JoAnne was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Don.  She is survived by son, Ron Slepski of Aliso Viejo, CA; daughter, Susan O’Kane (Rory) of Cary, NC; beloved granddaughter, Arynn O’Kane of Cary, NC; niece, Gretchen Vickers (Greg) of Willow Springs, IL; and goddaughter, Markie Pasternak of Opelika, AL. 

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Father Richard Childress as celebrant.  Inurnment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens.  Rosary will be 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022 with visitation following from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

JoAnne always loved music; she was a Music major in college, served as long-time organist at St. John Vianney and enjoyed going to the Nashville Symphony. She was an equally devoted wife to Don, a loving mother to Ron and Sue, and a very happy Baba to Arynn.  JoAnne loved St. John Vianney; serving as organist, member of St. Martha’s Guild and held the secret Polish sausage recipe for the St. Pat’s dinner.  She enjoyed tending to her rose garden, sewing, and loved traveling.  She was a dedicated caregiver to Don and Irene in later years.  Her generosity, smile and spirit will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 449 North Water Avenue, Gallatin, TN  37066.
