Jay Allen Shady

Jay Allen Shady, 52, Marion, passed away at 11:08 pm on Monday, August 8, 2022, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Muncie, Indiana, on Friday, May 1, 1970, to Donald and Judith (Ross) Shady. He was married to his loving wife, Nicole. Jay was a Business Systems Analyst throughout his career. He was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Reds fan, and he loved to build Lego sets. Jay was also a huge people person, who loved God, family, and church. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family would like to give a special thank you to his supervisor at work--Susan. Jay is survived by his father, Donald Shady; wife, Nicole (Canten) Shady; daughters, Kayetlin Shady and Maggie (Jimmy) O'Connell of Fort Wayne; brother, Roger (Karin) Shady of NC; sister, Julie (Tim) Thompson of Poneto; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; in-laws, Tom (Belinda) Canten of Marion; and faithful companions, Zeus and Mila. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Shady. Per Jay's wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Integrity Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, IN. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you show kindness to someone else as Jay always did to others. Memories may be shared online at www.ifccares.com.

Jay was always very kind to me. A loving father and husband, he was an example to many. Wishing Nicole and his girls peace and comfort in this time of loss, though I know they can rest assured that his soul was right with The Lord, which makes all the difference.

So very sorry to hear about Jay. He was such a kind person and easy to talk to. I have some special memories of Jay while growing up in Upland. Prayers to his family.
