<p>John Julian Obirek</p> <p>December 11, 1933 -&nbsp;August 6, 2022</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle on&nbsp;Saturday August 6, 2022 at the age of 88.&nbsp; He passed away peacefully with family by his side.&nbsp;</p> <p>John was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Mary, his siblings Jean (Metro), Bert (June), brother-in-law Charles, and nephews Darrell, Kelly, and Tim.</p> <p>Left to cherish his memory are his siblings Ed (Dorothy), Elsie (Jim), Florence, Eleanor (Dan), Ron, and numerous nieces and nephews.</p> <p>John will be remembered as a kind, gentle, caring and faith loving man.&nbsp; We are thankful for the time we shared with him throughout the years and in his final days.</p> <p>We would like to thank the staff at Red River Place for the care and compassion they provided in his final days.</p> <p>A private service has been held.</p> <p>Condolences may be left on his tribute wall at&nbsp;www.gilbartfuneralhome.com</p> <p>Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.</p>

My condolences to the family. Johnny never failed to raise his hand for a wave of greeting when I drove in or out of my parents home regardless of how busy he was. Had many quick chats with him at the end of the driveway. His presence has been missed the past few years.
