<p>It is with heavy hearts, we announce the death of our brother, Paul E. Piker.&nbsp; He passed away at Union Hospital, after a brief illness, on August 8, 2022 at 6:06 p.m. with family at his side. He was an employee of Kirkman&rsquo;s Hardwood for 30 years, as a debarker operator.</p> <p>Paul was born on May 17, 1963 to Jesse and Norma Piker. Both parents and brother Carl Piker proceed him in death.&nbsp; He is survived by six sisters, Jessie McCollum, Margaret Barton (Tim), Florence Barton (Ken), Judy Higgins (Jeff), Lois King (Terry), and Kathy Stripling; and one brother to whom he was very clos to as they were also co-workers, George Piker, as well as thirteen nieces and nephews.&nbsp; He also had a special friend since the fourth grade, Dina Watton.</p> <p>Paul was a 1981 graduate of Terre Haute South.&nbsp; He loved to mushroom hunt; he always took a week&rsquo;s vacation to hunt those wonderful morels. He also enjoyed deer hunting.</p> <p>Visitation will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 at DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.&nbsp; Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.&nbsp; Pastor Don Ransford will officiate.
