Col. Robert S. Anderson, USAF, (Ret.) Obituary

The afternoon of January 29, 2017, Robert Anderson went to sleep and woke up in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was at home, surrounded by his loving family.  Bob was born in the small town of Dawn, Missouri to Hugh P. Anderson and his wife Inez Stone-Anderson. Bob, after graduating from high school, enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps (later the USAF). He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and served his country with honor, dignity, and loyalty throughout his career, which spanned twenty-six years. He traveled the world and often said that Colorado was "the best place to call home." He lived in Colorado Springs for over forty years and after retiring with the Air Force, he spent many hours on hobbies and working with electronics. Some of his favorite hobbies were: carpentry, bowling, working on his Model A and T vehicles, and dancing. He was a man with many talents, he loved his family, and was unmovable in his Faith. Andy was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; his son, Steve; and his beloved wife, Joy. Robert is now survived by his wife, Victoria; his children, Gail (Paul) Youngmeyer, Michelle (Tom) Duft, Cynthia Anderson; Stan "David" Anderson, Jeff (Penny) Anderson, and Ken (Elizabeth) Anderson; two stepchildren, Maria Pruett and Paul Pruett; his two sisters, Carol Slattery, and Colleen (Frank) Espanosa; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation, 9:00AM-10:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM, Friday, February 3, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 55 Jefferson Street, Monument, Colorado 80132.
