Mildred Carpenter
<p>Mildred Reynolds Carpenter - Age 95, Goodlettsville, August 6, 2022</p> <p>Born in Millersville in 1927 she graduated from Goodlettsville High School in 1945 as the first female Sr Class VP. Her 74 year business career began at a Record Company in the brand new L&C tower in downtown Nashville. She quickly transitioned to the Legal liaison, financial and operations manager for a large number of business types: Molasses Co, Real Estate Mgmt, John Deere Tractor Sales, Ice Maker Mfg, Rocking Chair Mfg., Medical Supply Mfg, Farm, Cattle, Dairy and Agriculture management, Advertising Mgmt, Can Recycling, Hardware Store, and Automotive Repair. She worked daily until 90 years old.</p> <p>She was an active member of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a lay leader on numerous church councils and committees, Stephens Minister, Girl Scout Leader, PTA president, and Assoc School Librarian. An original patron of the Nashville Symphony her love of opera and classical music was taught to her by her mother at an early age. She loved life and thoroughly enjoyed her Gourmet Club, Great Books Society, and Wild Flower group teaching all her children the love of life. She and Dorothy Luton brought Master art to the Goodlettsville area through ownership of Artisan House. She was a spectacular weaver, having learned dying, spinning and weaving from Master artists at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico. </p> <p>She shared a love of travel with her husband and family, which took her to six of the seven World’s continents and extensively in North America. She and Tom did three long term missionary trips to Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, India and Africa after Tom retired from the United Methodist Publishing house. They made close friends all over the globe hosting many in their home for extended periods. </p> <p>Most of all she was a mother.</p> <p>Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Carpenter, Sr.; son, Thomas Earl Carpenter Jr.; father, John W. Reynolds, Sr.; mother, Josephine Gober Reynolds; brother, John W. Reynolds, Jr.; sister, Marietta Hampton.</p> <p>She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Hill (Charles), Emily Judd-Boone (James) and Laurale Curtsinger (Steve), 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.</p> <p>Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church St., Goodlettsville, TN. Service at 1:00 p.m. Internment will immediately follow the service at Spring Hill Cemetery with Aidan Hill, Graylan Douglas, Cory Curtsinger, Jessi Hill, Thomas Douglas, Jacob Muhlenthaler, Kaylor Siddons and Cody Swope.
