Leo F. Young Leo F. Young, 90, of Gordon passed away Sunday afternoon at home. He was born on September 30, 1931 in Big Mine Run (Woodland Heights) and was the son of the late Anna (Patterson) and Charles H. Young. Leo attended Butler Twp. High School. He was the husband of Jo-Ann (Zerby) Young. On August 24th they would have celebrated 59 years of marriage. Leo was a member of Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Gordon for many years. Early on Leo worked in the coal industry. He then went on to work for Penn Dot as an equipment operator for over 25 years prior to retirement. Leo was also a member of Citizens Fire Company-Gordon and Gordon Senior Citizens. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his children / grandchildren. Leo was very proud of his vegetable garden sharing its harvest with fellow friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by; brothers Charles J., Joseph, George, Lewis, Thomas & Walter; sisters Ethel Young, Mae Dudas & Joan Blevins; grandson Brandon Presto; son in law Tony Presto; nephew Charles Young Jr. Leo is survived by; spouse Jo-Ann Young; daughter Karen Presto, Gordon; daughter Le-Ann Techentine (Todd), Barnesville; son Leo F. Young II (Heather), Cary NC; sister Helen Eichert (Henry), FL; sister Mary Francaviglia (Joseph), AZ; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. A service will be held on Friday August 12th at 11:00 AM at Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 437 Airport Road, Gordon PA 17936. A viewing for family and friends will be held in the church from 10-11:00 AM on Friday. Burial will follow services at Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Leo’s memory Christ’s United Lutheran Church-Memorial Fund, 437 Airport Rd, Gordon PA 17936.
