Born in Ohio, Cathy spent her early days in Pensacola, Florida before moving to her family farm in St. Marys. After attending Penn State University, where she earned her BS in Computer Science, she started a long career at KPMG. Her time at KPMG culminated in becoming a partner and serving for six years on the Board of Directors. Later in her career, Cathy devoted significant time to rehabilitating her family farm as an organic beef-cattle operation. After retiring, she volunteered as a Boardwalk Naturalist at Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. She will be remembered for her love of the outdoors. She shared that love with family and friends, and spent as much time as she could running, hiking, visiting national parks, and bird watching. Cathy had a listening ear for everyone. People who met Cathy were drawn in by her warmth and openness. She saw the best in everyone, and she made everyone she spoke with feel like the most important person in the room. And no one can forget her giant smile and sweet laugh. Cathy was also known for her great generosity. In addition to her anonymous philanthropy, Cathy gave freely of her time to family, friends, and strangers alike. She is survived by her husband Tom, daughter Sara (and son-in-law Jake Ehleiter), and son, Greg. She is also survived by her sister Lynn Kauffmann, brother-in-law Rich, and nieces Michelle Raeuber, Allison Zaborowski, and nephew Rich; her sister Cheryl Paynter, brother-in-law David, and niece Jenny Moulton, and nephew Charlie. The family respectfully requests no flowers. Please consider planting a native pollinating plant, flower or tree.
