Dana Cresse Hillen

<p>Dana Cresse Hillen, 76, of North Vernon, passed away at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.</p> <p>Born August 16, 1945, in Queensville, he was the son of Leo Richard and Margaret Ann (Kuntz) Hillen. He married Mary Higginbotham on December 31, 1975, in Edinburgh; she survives.</p> <p>Dana was a 1963 graduate of Shawe Memorial High School in Madison. He worked HVAC maintenance for Cummins Engine Company for 36 years before retiring in 1999. Dana was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed history, fishing, hunting, traveling, riding motorcycles and reading.</p> <p>Surviving with his wife, Mary Hillen of North Vernon, are his sons, John David (Sharon) Hillen of Germantown, Ohio, Douglas Hillen of Hollywood, Florida and Matthew (Amy) Hillen of Morristown; daughter, Mackenzie Hillen of North Vernon; brothers, John (Kathy) Hillen of North Vernon and Charles (Phil) Hillen, of Concord, New Hampshire; sisters, Tami&nbsp;Brown and Frances (Robert) Leonard, both of North Vernon, Mary (James) Vincent and Margaret Fouts, both &nbsp;of Columbus, and Ann Compton of Franklin; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christina&nbsp;Carbone; and brother, Tony Hillen.</p> <p>A memorial&nbsp;service for Dana will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp &amp; Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with Rev. Daniel Ison offering closing prayer. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.</p> <p>Memorials may be made in honor of Dana through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.</p>
