Philip Fogel

Philip Fogel, 79 of Trumbull, CT, passed away on August 7, 2022 in St. Vincent’s Hospital. Philip was born in Brooklyn, NY to Frank and Sylvia Fogel. He went to Erasmus Hall High School and graduated in 1960. Phil went on to earn a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from St. Louis University. He worked as an Aerospace Engineer for Allied Signal Engines (formerly Textron Lycoming) for over twenty years. He continued his professional career with DCMA (Government Agency), at Pratt and Whitney and later Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement in 2013. Between his time at Allied Signal and DCMA, he became a Microsoft System Engineer but left to pursue his love of gas turbine engines for DCMA. Phil loved his two Corvette convertibles (1987, 2000) and joined the Corvette Club of Connecticut. He and his wife, entered many car shows, and took home many awards. He was also passionate about parenting five German Shepherds over the years. He donated to multiple charities, especially the Connecticut Humane Society, in their efforts to build a new facility in Wilton, CT. Philip is survived by his wife, Denice Daniels Fogel, of Trumbull, CT. He is also survived by his daughters Faith Fogel of Argentina (and California), and Melissa (Fogel) Augeri, and her husband Sal, and their two children Roxanne and Nicholas of Westport, CT. Funeral service will be held graveside at the B’nai Torah Cemetery, 250 Reid Street in Fairfield, CT on August 10, 2022 at 2:30. Rabbi Brodie, of B’nai Torah Synagogue, will officiate. Shiva arrangements will be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111, (CThumane.org/TogetherForever). The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at DaVita Homecare and the staff at Bridgeport Hospital.
