<p>Mary M. (Michos) Bennett, age 89, of Newburgh, IN, passed away at 4:14 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at home with her family by her side.</p> <p>Mary was born May 9, 1933, in Virginia, MN, to Nicholas and Athanasia (Papandreon) Michos. She graduated from Marion Indiana High School in 1951. &nbsp;Mary was an active member of Grace &amp; Peace Lutheran Church where she enjoyed volunteering and helping with fundraisers. Later she was a member of Saint Ananias Orthodox Church. She volunteered with Little Lambs nonprofit organization. Mary retired from Old National Bank where she worked in Customer Service and went on to work for her son at 5 Star Security Systems. Mary enjoyed the Philharmonic, Broadway shows, reading, gardening, watching movies, was active in the Dunigan YMCA water classes, and watching basketball, especially Bosse and U of E. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mary considered her great accomplishments to be raising two wonderful children and building a new house at the age of 65.</p> <p>Mary is survived by her daughter, Nikki Presley; son, Chad Bennett (Julie); grandchildren, Alicia Presley, Donovan McNeal, Ashton Bennett, Jackson Bennett, Shyheim McNeal; and great grandchildren, Ashawna Logan, Olivia Logan, and Jahsiya Smith.</p> <p>Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Athanasia Michos; sister, Zoe Smith; and great grandson, Javion Presley.</p> <p>The Greek Orthodox Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Eastminster Church, 5501 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with Father Daniel Hackney officiating. Burial will be in St. John&rsquo;s Catholic Church Cemetery.</p> <p>Friends may visit from 3:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel &ndash; A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, with a Celebration of Life and Prayer Service held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Eastminster Church.</p> <p>A Live Stream will be available for the Celebration of Life and Prayer Service on Wednesday evening beginning at 6:10 p.m. CST.
