Andrew Charles Karp, 61 of Charlotte, NC, entered eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on August 4, 2022.
Andrew was born to Lester and Leona Karp in Marblehead, MA on January 6, 1961. He graduated from Harvard University in 1983, where he was Managing Editor of the Harvard Crimson and University of Virginia School of Law in 1986.
Andrew began his career at Cravath, Swain and Moore in New York City before moving to Charlotte in 1994. He served as a leader and innovator at Bank of America, most recently as Global Head of Debt Advisory and Vice Chairman of Debt Capital Markets, for 25 years.
While Andrew was highly respected in investment banking, he was first and foremost a devoted father to his three children, Eliza Dora, Amy Victoria and Harrison Adam who mourn his death. Susan Smith Karp is the mother of his children. Andrew is also survived by his beloved mother Leona and was preceded in death by his cherished father Lester Karp.
A funeral service was held at Temple Beth El, Charlotte on Sunday August 7. Interment service will be held at Shirat Hayam Cemetery 506 Lowell St. Peabody on Tuesday August 9 at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one's choice.
