Dana LeAnn Hoover Obituary

Dana LeAnn Stone Hoover, of Springdale, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 6 at the age of 61. Dana was born September 27, 1960, in Broken Arrow, OK to Jack and Virginia Stone. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Troy and MaryBell Morris of Bixby, OK; James and Florene Stone of Broken Arrow, OK; and her in-laws, Robert and Celestia Hoover of North Little Rock, AR.

Dana is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ronnie. Her oldest child and favorite daughter Courtney Clements (Mack) of Oxford, MS; Ryan Hoover (Amanda) of Oxford, MS; Caleb Hoover (Tasha) of Farmington, AR; Josh Hoover (Marisa) of Lowell, AR; parents Jack and Virginia Stone of Springdale, AR and brother Jackie (Rhonda) of Springdale, AR. Dana was Mimi to Zeke Hoover, Jett Hoover, Gemma Clements, Mackena Clements, Lance Hoover and Blakely Hoover. Dana was also the fun aunt to multiple nieces and nephews.

Dana met the love of her life, Ronnie, at church camp while in junior high. After college, they began dating and it is all history from there. They married September 17, 1983, and went on to have 4 children. She loved being a mom from kissing every booboo to making costumes for carnivals and school plays, her kids were her pride and joy.

While Dana loved being a mom, her greatest joy was her grandkids. Being Mimi was what she enjoyed most. She loved when they came to visit and Dana sure kept the road to Oxford, MS hot!

Dana was a master of all games, she especially loved playing games with her family. She played a mean game of Spades and Wahoo.

Dana was raised in church and was proudly an Ordained minister with the Assemblies of God church. She sang her first solo in the church her grandfather pastored at the age of five. This began a lifetime of dedication to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Dana traveled with Ronnie across the country and around the world as evangelists for eight years before they became Chi Alpha Campus Missionaries at the University of Arkansas, where they have ministered for the last 33 years. Dana was the driving force behind all things administration, organization, worship, was a phenomenal disciple maker, the XA house director and of course the risk-taking force behind Ronnie. The ministry house they built for Chi Alpha exists because of Dana and her incredible faith for it.

There are thousands of people whose lives have been impacted by Dana over the years. Only eternity will tell just how massive her impact was on the Kingdom of God.
Visitation is Tuesday August 9th from 5-7pm at Springdale 1st Assembly, 1605 Robinson Ave, Springdale.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday at Springdale 1st Assembly.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes to honor Dana's legacy by giving to Chi Alpha at the University of Arkansas though the Dana Hoover Memorial Fund. Through Chi Alpha, she dedicated her life to reconciling college students to Christ.
