Gary passed away on August 6th at the age of 70. Gary resided in Sand Springs Oklahoma.

Gary is survived by his wife of 47 years Sharon Semke, son Joshua Semke and daughters Kaylin Semke and Holli Morris. He also leaves behind his mother Margie Semke, sister Janie Semke, and grandson Mason Morris. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Semke and daughter April Semke.

Gary was born on October 30th, 1951, to Charles and Margie Semke. He graduated from Edison High School and attended Northeastern State University.

In 1970, he began his career as an apprentice at PSO and retired from there after more than 40 years as a journey lineman and troubleshooter. He was the one you called and thanked when the lights came back on. He was known to his buddies and co-workers as “Big Aug.” Gary was an active and proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 1002. He was the dictionary definition of a blue-collar man.

Gary spent his free time in ‘Man Heaven,’ at deer camp, and loved fishing, hunting, and being an outdoorsman. He was an avid tool man and was able to fix just about anything. Gary was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan as well as the Texas Rangers and Atlanta Braves. He loved sports almost as much as he loved to argue politics.

Gary was a dedicated family man who always put his children first above anything, and would make time for any friend in need. He will be missed by all who knew him and cherished his company.

With respect to his request upon his death, Gary was cremated. A memorial service and celebration of Gary’s life will be on Saturday, August 27th, at Faith Bible Church (4920 W. Easton Street, Tulsa, OK). Services will begin around 12:00pm.
