Ms. Toni Renee Carter, 60, passed away Sunday (August 7, 2022) at her residence in Waycross surrounded by her family following an extended illness. She was born in Alma, GA to the late James “Jimmy” Middleton Carter, Jr. and Nelda Gayle Wheeler Carter. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She is survived by four siblings, Jim Carter (Jennifer) of Valdosta, Jeff Carter (Michael LaRochelle) of Naples, FL, Dr. Jenny Barnes (Kevin) of Waycross, and Julie Tanner (Bryant) of Waycross; several nieces and nephews, Madison Carlo (Seth), Abigail Carter Harrell (Matt), Clancey Grace Carter, Mary Catherine Barnes, Carter Barnes, Coleman Tanner, Sarah Beth Tanner, and Lindsey Tanner; and one great nephew, James Beckett “J.B.” Carlo. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday (August 9, 2022) at the Southside Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery in Alma. The family will begin receiving friends at the church on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made in her honor to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501.
