<p>Mary Kathaleen Watterson, 76, of Chicago, Illinois formerly La Porte passed away Friday, August 5, 2022.</p> <p>Kathy was born on December 20, 1945, to the late Judge Alban and Dorothy (Stapish) Smith. She was a Legal Secretary and Court Reporter. She held a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from Purdue North Central.</p> <p>Kathy leaves behind her children, Jeremy Watterson of South Bend, Christopher A. Watterson of Michigan City, and Nicole Watterson of Trenton, Ohio; grandchildren, Zachary Fisher, Sierra Fisher, Ashlee Watterson, Savannah (Zach) Cannon, Ian Watterson, Kathaleen Watterson, and Christopher Watterson. She was preceded by brothers, Alban, T. Michael, Terrance, J. Patrick, and Dennis Smith.</p> <p>Visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.</p> <p>Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in La Porte.</p> <p>Memorial contributions may be made to the La Porte Animal Shelter, 2855 IN-2, La Porte, Indiana 46350.</p> <p>To light a virtual candle, share a story of Kathy&rsquo;s life, or leave a message of&nbsp;comfort for the family, please visit www.EsslingFuneralHome.com.</p>
