Bruce M. Taylor

Bruce M. Taylor, 79, of New Philadelphia passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2022 surrounded by his family in the Park Village Health Care Center at Dover. Bruce was born on December 23, 1942 in Dover and was a son of the late James and Daisy Wallick Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Patty Polka, Cal and Terry Taylor. Bruce was the owner of the Allstate Insurance Agency in New Philadelphia for over 42 years. With an attention to detail, hard work, and excellent communication abilities, Bruce was able to be the number one agent in Ohio for over a decade and was awarded with being in the Honor Ring Society all 42 years of his career with Allstate. With Bruce, his customers came first and he was known for always being there, no matter the day or time. He was also a dedicated family man, making sure that he never missed his children’s school or sporting activities. Bruce was an avid sports fan who enjoyed coaching his son’s little league team, and rooting for the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavs. He and Sharon loved traveling together and spending time at their home on Kiawah Island, especially when the entire family would come down to vacation. Bruce also enjoyed going to car shows and took great pride in his 2004 Corvette. A wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather, Bruce will be sadly missed by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Prosser Taylor whom he married on September 15, 1963; children, Michael (Lori) Taylor of West Virginia, Amy (Ned) Nicholson of South Carolina; sister in law, Patty Taylor of Dover; grandchildren, Amanda and Hannah Taylor; Ben and Taylor Nicholson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11th starting at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dove with Rev. LuAnn Youngman officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. The family will be greeting friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 pm.
