Billy Wayne Hughes, age 62, passed away Sunday August 7, 2022 in the Houston County Nursing Home. Billy was born September 27, 1959 in Crockett to parents, Gerald L. and Joyce Marsh Hughes. He could run any piece of heavy equipment there was and was a strong supporter of the Latexo Volunteer Fire Department. Billy is survived by brothers, David Hughes of Beaumont, Kenny Hughes and wife, Crystal of Latexo; aunt, Gwen Arnold of Diboll; uncle, Ken Marsh and wife, Judy of Latexo; niece, Niki Lehmann and husband, Josh of Waco; nephews, Kenny Hughes, Jr. and wife, Danielle of Latexo, Heath Hughes and wife, Savanah of Fort Worth, Ben Willis and wife, Ashley of Grapeland; brother-in-law, Lonnie Thomas of Waco; special brother, Paul Blaylock of Latexo; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Billy was preceded in death by parents, Gerald and Joyce Hughes; and sister, Irene “Sissy” Thomas.
