Funeral service for CW3 (R) Charles Lee Pearl, Sr., 84, of Anniston, will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Phil Winningham officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Chapel. Entombment will follow the service Anniston Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with full military honors. Mr. Pearl passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at his lake home on Logan Martin Lake (Poor House Creek Branch). Preceding Mr. Pearl in death are his sister Mary, and brothers, James, Jessie, John, and Joseph Pearl. Born February 23, 1938, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late Jessie and Oda Lucas Pearl, Mr. Pearl was a member of the VFW, AMVETS, and the DAV. He retired from the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer, and a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran, Senior Parachutists, and Jump Master. Mr. Pearl also owned several businesses, and was employed by the Anniston Army Depot, as well as Ft McClellan as a Civil Servant. He enjoyed NASCAR/Motorsports, watching Wheel of Fortune, and spending time with his family and friends. Left to cherish the memory of Mr. Pearl are his wife of 65 years, Renate Jurkschat Pearl; his children, Charles Pearl Jr (and Kathy), Mike (and Robin) Pearl, Bob (and Paula) Pearl; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Grant, Taylor, and Katie. Pallbearers will be Timothy Pearl, Ryan Pearl, Grant Pearl, Justin Pearl, Tyler Baird, and George Moore III. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made in memory of Mr. Pearl to one of the Veteran’s organizations listed above.
