Tyrone Moody was born March 9, 1953, in Chicago, IL. He was the first of four children born to Alma and Eugene Moody, Sr.

Moody accepted Christ at the early age of thirteen at New Whitestone Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. Warren on the south side of Chicago.

Moody attended Englewood High School on the south side of Chicago, where he graduated with honors in 1970. He attended Iowa State University and majored in Mechanical Engineering. Upon leaving Iowa State, he attended Dawson Skill Center in Chicago where he received a certificate in Tool and Dye. Tyrone held numerous jobs in the manufacturing industry until 1980 where he started working at Kentile Floors until 1995. He retired from Reynolds Metal in 2000 after losing his vision.

In 1975, Tyrone married Iola Jewel and to this union three children were born: Torrence Tyrone Moody, and fraternal twins, Toya Janee Moody, and Tremel Rashon Moody.

Tyrone enjoyed bowling, roller skating, playing chess, basketball, and softball with friends and family. His favorite pastimes were playing chess with his brother, Eugene Jr., and bowling with his sister, Sharon. In 2016, he bowled a 293 with no handicap while his vision was impaired. He received the highest man of the year award in the mixed bowling league.

Tyrone departed this life unexpectable Thursday, July 28, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memories his ex-wife, Iola; his children, Torrence, Toya, and Tremel (Shannon); his grandchildren, Brandon, Marques, Torri, and Destiny; his sister, Sharon Washington; two siblings, Debra Ann Moody, and Eugene Moody, Jr., who preceded him in death; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and also his special friend, Darnetta Washington.
