Mary Louise Deen (Spencer), age 78, of South Elgin, IL, passed away at home on July 23, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born July 24, 1943, in Forrest City, Arkansas and moved to the Elgin area right after graduating high school. She worked in the restaurant service industry until moving to North Carolina and after returning to the Elgin area, where she began a career until retiring from All State Insurance at the age of 70. In her time, she was lovingly known as Mary, Little Mary, Louise, Doodle, Doodlebug, Weise, Aunt Weise, Mama, and Granny. She was a woman rich in love and she gave love to everyone she met. She was an earthbound angel that God called home to get her wings and we know she is looking down over us all. She is survived by her daughter Stacie J. Osar, her son Richard E. Potts, her grandchildren; Anthony R. (Myra), Brian C., Cara, her great grandchildren; Anthony X., Austin, Bella, Braxton, her siblings; Bonnie Spencer, Arneda Groesser (Jack), John Spencer (Polly). She is preceded by her parents Thomas and Hazel Spencer, brothers Eugene and Charles. Memorial will be held at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, IL on Sunday, August 21st, from 3-8 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate in her name to an Alzheimer's charity.
