<p>James Hilbert Jones Sr., 82, of Lumberton, NC, was born June 27, 1940, and passed very peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, Friday, August 5, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny, and Leola Jones; brothers: Johnny Jones, Jr., Lee Straw Jones, Lee Ander Jones, and Therion (Jack) Jones; and sisters: Josie Ray Hammond, Ora Lee Hammonds, and Lelan Rose Thompson; and son-in-law, Steve Little. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Annie Sue Jones; daughters: Karen (Kay) Jones and husband, Robbie Hunt, of Lumberton, and Annette Hill and husband, James, of St. Pauls; sons: James H. Jones, Jr. and wife, Carol, of Fayetteville, Mark Jones and wife, Millicent, of Pembroke; 9 grandchildren: Amber Henderson, Josh Little, Austin Bullard, Tray Regan, Trevor Regan, Ashlyn Madeira, Hunter Jones, Sallee Williamson, and Seth Jones; and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother: Kenneth Jones; sisters: Lynda Oxendine, Wanda Barnes, and Sharon Lamkin; and a host of nieces and nephews. Hilbert was a truck driver by profession but was gifted in many areas, including mechanics and music. He played the piano and guitar. His hobbies were gardening, traveling, and home improvement. He willingly shared his skills and talents with family and friends. In his last years, he enjoyed singing hymns, worshiping God, and visits from family and friends.</p>June 27, 1940 - August 5, 202206/27/194008/05/2022
