Alonzo (Lonnie) Bennett age 61 passed away July 28, 2022. Alonzo Bennett was born November 14, 1960 in Prescott Arkansas to Alvin Bennett and to the late Valaleen Alexander. 

Alonzo graduated from Central High School in 1980. Four years later in October of 1984 he married Carolyn Kaye Russell they were married for 38 years. Alonzo’s secular career, began when he worked for Interstate Sign Company, then he worked for Chenal Country Club, and lastly he worked for First student Transit as a bus driver, until he retired in 2013.

Alonzo was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses in 1981. Alonzo loved the ministry and talking about the truth to others. Alonzo and Carolyn had pioneered in the past together. And as recent as April of 2021, Alonzo and Carolyn began pioneering together again. They were to go to Pioneer Service School together this year. 

Survivors Carolyn Bennett (wife), Alvin Bennett (father), Dale (Mesha Marie) Richardson (brother), Dale Micaiah and Davin Mathais Richardson (nephews), Odie (Arlene) McGill, Cal (Mary) McGill, (uncles) Annie Mae McGill (aunt) Natalie Russell (neice) Richard Allen Winston (nephew), A host of other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by Valaleen Alexander (mother), Cleofus Alexander (stepfather), Odie McGill S.R. (uncle), Clifton McGill (uncle), Frances Manning (aunt), Carl McGill (uncle), Iola Thompson (aunt), Walter Thompson (Uncle), Danny McGill (uncle) He was family oriented, he loved his fleshly and spiritual family. He attended many family gatherings. 

He enjoyed sports. Especially football which he was well noted for, when he played for Little Rock Central High School. The Dallas Cowboys and the Arkansas Razorbacks, as we all know, were his favorite football teams. He was very outgoing and had a good sense of humor. You may not have known he was a great dancer and a seamstress. He was able to sew on his mother’s sewing machine.  He loved his family, all genres of music and travelling. 

 His first driving experience came at the age of 5 when he backed his uncle’s car across the road. We did not know that this experience prepared him to drive lawn equipment and buses. 

He was well liked by his spiritual family, workmates and neighbors. If you wanted to know what was on his mind, he would tell you. His love and relationship with Jehovah has sustained him in dealing with his personal health issues, as well as losing his parent and other close family members, His love for Jehovah is why we look forward to seeing him again. With his big smile, big heart and his high energy level. He had a zeal and love for the ministry and the friends. He enjoyed being used by Jehovah and working around the kingdom hall We look forward to seeing him running to meet us in the new world 

A memorial service will be held in his honor 1:00pm Saturday August 13th, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 2119 Wolfe Street in Little Rock.
