Carol Ann Powell Obituary

Carol Ann Powell, of Russell Springs, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Summit Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, in Columbia.  She was 71 years of age.

Carol was born December 16, 1950, in Columbia, daughter of the late Otis Delmane and Mary Irene Atwood Powell.  She was saved at a young age in the old Mt. Calvary Church.  Carol enjoyed life.  She would hostess poker games and loved to cook for and serve many people in town.  After her mother passed, Carol worked to keep the family reunions going, keeping the family together.  She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxillary for many years, was a foster parent for some time and coached a girls’ softball team.  Carol loved music, dancing and singing karaoke.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael (and Tammy) Bray, of Russell Springs, Bobby Bray (and Christy Rainwater), of Nancy, and Allen Polston (and Juanita Stephens), of Russell Springs; her brothers, Danny Powell, of Russell Springs, Dave (and Beverly) Powell, of Columbia, Donald (and Erica) Powell, of Tennessee, and Doyle Powell, of Russell Springs; her sisters, Lisa (and Mike) Daniel, of Russell Springs and Brenda (and Marvin) Grider, of Columbia; her grandchildren, Taylor Bray, Travis Bray, Chase McFarland, Bethany Bray, Tyler Bray, Cheyenne Bray, Jon-Michael Bray, Zachary Parker, Allie Polston, Jake Polston and Adem “Peanut” Polston; several great-grandchildren; a host of special nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services are 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Billy Silverman officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be David Powell, Scotty Powell, James Grider, Jon-Michael Bray, Tyler Bray and Matt Poff.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home and after 8:00 a.m., on Wednesday, until time for services.
