Margaret Dame Nicely, age 88, of Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Thursday, August 4, 2022 in Mooresville, North Carolina.<br><br>She was born November 29, 1933 in Alleghany County to the late James Phillip Dame and Martha Heron Dame. She was an active member of Longdale United Methodist Church for many years and was an active member of Central Advent Christian Church until her health declined. She enjoyed singing in the choir at both churches. She enjoyed music, cooking, family gatherings, bird watching and animals.<br><br>In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Sanford Dunmore “Sam” Nicely, Sr.; a son-in-law, Sonny Johnson; and two sisters.<br><br>She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Johnson, Lynn Whitehead and husband Jerry, Tammy Long and husband Bobby; a son, Sam Nicely, Jr. and wife Jill; ten grandchildren, Trey Johnson, Billie Jo Craft and husband Matt, Erica Zafiris and husband George, Emily Lolandes and husband Omar, Alison Pillow and husband Jonathan, Brandi Long, Kayleigh Long, Cody Long, Devin Nicely, and Bram Nicely; eight great grandchildren, Jackson Westfall, Reese Zafiris, Marley Zafiris, Oliver Lolandes, Luca Lolandes, Corbin Pillow, Nolan Pillow and Cohen Long; a sister-in-law, Frances Nicely and a number of nieces and nephews. <br><br>A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Gene Ayers officiating. Pallbearers will be Omar Lolandes, George Zafiris, Cody Long, Devin Nicely, Bram Nicely, and Jackson Westfall. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home.<br><br>The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Central Advent Christian Church, 3515 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.<br>
