Franklin G Pusateri

PUSATERI - Franklin G. Peacefully passed away on August 4, 2022, age of 93. Born in North Buffalo, he met his future wife Margaret “Peggy” Post at Crystal Beach. In 1958, he started Advance Furniture in Kenmore and created a destination for Danish modern and European contemporary furniture. Franklin had an insatiable curiosity about … well… everything … So, when the Internet came along he wanted to be part of it and launched ContemporaryFurniture. com and PureContemporary.com. He had an unrelenting love of family. HIs wife Peggy predeceased him in 1986, leaving him a bit unmoored. He had to figure out how to shop, cook, and send out his own Christmas cards, And given the opportunity, he did quite well. A massive void was filled when six remarkable grandchildren came into his life. At Christmas time, he would sneak into the yard to dance around, dressed up as Santa Claus. At family gatherings, he egged the littles to stick their fingers in the frosting of a cake. One year, his daughter-in-law Karen was prepared; she made a special sacrificial cake that beckoned all the fingers–just to outsmart him! In 2015, he suffered a fall and massive brain injury that was life changing. For months, he defied all odds. His remarkable will to live, and amazing support from family and friends like Ken, Joanne (and the beautiful little Bella) were truly the only reason he survived. This past week, he used his iPad (the Magic Machine) to FaceTime his daughter Chris in Tampa, and grandchildren Jamie Kenyon in Vincenza, Italy, Lindsey Kenyon in Delft, Netherlands, Alex McGlue in Boston, James McGlue in Columbia, MD, Russel Pusateri in Brooklyn and Stephen Pusateri in Buffalo. His final words to his children were, “I’m so lucky.” Beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Post); devoted father of Diane (Timothy) McGlue, Christine (John) Kenyon and John Pusateri; cherished grandfather of Russel and Stephen Pusateri, Alex and James McGlue, Lindsey and Jamie Kenyon; loving son of the late Anthony and Christine Pusateri; dear brother of Donna (late Thomas) Hassenfratz and the late Roy Pusateri. Relatives and friends may visit the LOMBARDO FUNERAL HOME (Northtowns Chapel), 885 Niagara Falls Blvd. near Eggert, Amherst, NY Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Gregory the Great Parish, 200 St. Gregory Ct., Williamsville, NY Friday at 8:45 AM. Please assemble at church. Entombment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Franklin’s honor to www.hospicebuffalo. com. Online condolences may be made at www.lombardofuneralhome.com
