<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;"><strong>SALEM</strong> &ndash; Mr. Christopher &ldquo;Crusty&rdquo; Connelly, 57 of Salem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington surrounded by the love and comfort of his devoted family.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Raised in Salem, Chris was the son of Mark Connelly, Sr. and the late Donna (Derflinger) Connelly. His true love of the ocean developed at a young age. Growing up on Hardy Street, his childhood home sat on the waters of Salem Harbor where lifelong memories and adventures would transpire.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Always greeting others with a golden smile and a big hug, Crusty was a friend to all who had an immense heart and an incredible sense of humor. You could always count on Crusty to crack a joke, pull a prank or tell one of his outrageous stories. No matter what it was, you were bound to laugh.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">Crusty was his happiest when on the water, boating, fishing and sharing in those many adventures with his family. He loved a good time, whether it was sailing, enjoying nature, cultivating his plants or being around animals. He lived a simple life, full of fun, family and friends who will miss him deeply. &nbsp;&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">In addition to his father, Mark Connelly of Nahant, Crusty is survived by his children, Gregory Connelly and his partner, Kristin Dooley of Salem and Nicole Connelly and her partner, John Baker of Danvers; his former spouse, Amy Connelly of Swampscott; his brothers, Mark Connelly and his wife, Bernadette of Danvers and Matthew Connelly and his wife, Tammy of Danvers; his niece and nephew, Helena and Max Connelly of Danvers and grand-pets, Sadie, Rusty and Kitty.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-family:times new roman,times,serif;">ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to attend Crusty&rsquo;s visitation which will be held at&nbsp;O&rsquo;Donnell Cremations &ndash; Funerals &ndash; Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 12 (Noon) to 2 P.M. In true Crusty fashion, please do not wear black. Be comfortable, casual and colorful and if you have one, wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt in his memory. SALEM – Mr. Christopher “Crusty” Connelly, 57 of Salem, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington surrounded by the love and comfort of his devoted family.

Raised in Salem, Chris was the son of Mark Connelly, Sr. and the late Donna (Derflinger) Connelly. His true love of the ocean developed at a young age. Growing up on Hardy Street, his childhood home sat on the waters of Salem Harbor where lifelong memories and adventures would transpire.

Always greeting others with a golden smile and a big hug, Crusty was a friend to all who had an immense heart and an incredible sense of humor. You could always count on Crusty to crack a joke, pull a prank or tell one of his outrageous stories. No matter what it was, you were bound to laugh.

Crusty was his happiest when on the water, boating, fishing and sharing in those many adventures with his family.
