Frances M. Zaleski
Frances M. Zaleski (née McGinley) was called to Heaven to be reunited with her husband Edward on June 24, 2022 at the age of 90. She passed away peacefully at her home in Margate, South Africa. Frances was born in Philadelphia PA but lived most of her life in Berlin NJ, where she raised her family.<br><br> <br><br>Frances joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and was stationed at the U.S. Army European Headquarters in Munich Germany. She met her future husband, Sergeant Edward M. Zaleski, while both were serving in Europe.<br><br> <br><br>After marrying in 1954, Frances accompanied Edward to posts in California and Oklahoma before they settled in New Jersey in 1962. Frances worked as a secretary for various companies, including the Girl Scouts and Camden County Administration. Frances was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Berlin NJ.<br><br> <br><br>After the death of her husband Edward, Frances lived with her daughter Joan Lamper in Washington, Florida and Virginia. She later accompanied Joan to postings in Ghana, Jordon and South Africa where she spent her last days. She had returned to the U.S. on two occasions; once to attend a party for her beloved granddaughter Katerina’s high school graduation, and one last time to visit her daughter Terry’s home where all her children and her granddaughter Katerina came to see her.<br><br> <br><br>Frances is survived by her sisters Anna Love of Pine Hill NJ and Pat McCone of Philadelphia PA; her children, Joan Zaleski of South Africa, Michael Zaleski (Linda) of Berlin NJ, Terry Hussey (Peter) of Alexandria VA and Matthew Zaleski of N. Charleston SC; and her granddaughter Katerina Zaleski of Berlin NJ.<br><br> <br><br>Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday September 14, 2022 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE, BERLIN NJ 08009. Memorial service 1:00PM at the funeral home. Interment of ashes to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin NJ.
