Obituary

Carol Ann Disbrow, a strong, sensible, and selfless woman, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 5, 2022.  Carol felt richly blessed in life and paid it forward  by pouring out her love, support, and service to her family.  This she did from an early age to even beyond the grave. Carol was a genuine “Proverbs 31 woman”.  Smart, sharp, wise, and witty, [Mom] Carol was truly a servant leader who gave generously and lived with great integrity.  She enjoyed her quiet time alone, gardening in her meticulous yard, where you’d find beautiful roses, hastas, green beans, and even asparagus hidden throughout her gorgeous flowering yard.  She loved collecting and canning those green beans and watching the many beautiful birds that she [also] nurtured.  Carol cherished her peaceful quiet times even cooking and ironing.  Carol also loved traveling anywhere that involved sunshine and beaches, her sisters, or outlet stores. She loved finding a bargain!

Most significantly, Carol was a faithful and humble follower of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Her genuine Christian faith and walk of love that she consistently demonstrated in this life is her greatest legacy to her family.  She glorified God by reflecting His loving-kindness to others, no matter the circumstance. Carol’s humble, gracious, and giving spirit has forever blessed the hearts of all who’ve been fortunate to know her.

Carol is survived by her children, Jim Rice, Jan (John) Haas; beloved niece, Pamela (Joe) Neiman; stepson, Thad (Amy) Disbrow; grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon), Mathew (Caroline), Zack (Kylie), Lexi (John Michael), and Taylore; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Marleigh; and siblings, Colleen, Betty, and Pat.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Disbrow; and siblings, Tommy, Richard, Clayton, Luella, Margaret, Wilda, and Dorothy.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH 43623, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Promedica Hospice, who all provided the kindest and most comforting care to our beloved Carol.
