Eugene "Roger" R. W. Beaudry Obituary

Southbridge...Eugene "Roger" Beaudry, 90, died August 5, 2022, at UMass Memorial Health/Harrington.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his 2 brothers: George A. Beaudry and Ernest Beaudry, and 3 sisters: Pauline Benoit, Gloria Hatch, and Sister Jeanette Beaudry, Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.

He was born in Southbridge, September 6, 1931, one of 6 children born to Alfred J. and Nathalie B.  (St. Onge) Beaudry, and has lived here all his life.  He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church (St. John Paul II Parish) and a graduate from the former Mary E. Wells High School. Eugene was a proud US Navy veteran of the Korea War, serving from 1952-56 aboard the USS Grand Canyon. He was a life member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, De Triana Council  #199 of Southbridge, and a life member of the Fourth Degree, Bishop O'Reilly Assembly, Knights of Columbus of Worcester.

He worked for 45 years in the composing room of the Southbridge Evening News, retiring in 1994.  He enjoyed travelling, especially to visit nieces and nephews in Colorado, and his yearly trips to Florida.  He most of all loved Big Bunny Market where he did all his shopping.  

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, with the Mass at 10AM at Notre Dame Church, 446 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home from 8:45-9:45AM, prior to the mass. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. George Cemetery, Paige Hill Road, Southbridge, MA  www.sansoucyfuneral.com.
