Cypress, Enrique Perez, Jr. was born on July 9, 1981 in Houston, TX to the late Maria Luisa and Enrique Perez Sr. in Houston, Texas. On August 2, 2022 he left this earth, surrounded by his family. Within his 41 years of life, he left a very noticeable imprint behind. From his contagious laugh to his kind heart, he’s touched everyone’s heart along the way.

With the presence to capture the attention of any room and the essence of a true performer to keep all eyes on him, Cypress, was truly something special. Whether he was on a stage performing his music or simply entertaining his family and friends with his charismatic energy. The party never stopped when he was around. He was Cyp the Hype.

You could always count on Cyp to come to any function or be there for any one of his family or friends. He was never one to let someone be alone in a time of need. He was a great shoulder to cry on, a great ear to listen and had such a caring heart. Towards the end of his life he found great meaning in life within his church and was trying every day to better himself. It started with a way to bond with his son and turned into him feeding the homeless for holidays and going any Sunday he was able to…as long as the Texans weren’t playing.

He is survived by son, Gabriel Perez; daughter in law, Melissa Ceballos; granddaughter, Aaliyah Perez; soon to be grandson who is on the way; sister, Sonia Alvarado; brother, Raul Perez and sister Alyssa Perez. He is also survived by 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
