Lewiston, Betty Holt, 91, Died Thursday evening from fatal injuries she received in a fall. Born in Poland July 20, 1931, in an upstairs bedroom of her grandparent's farmhouse. The daughter of Norris Sr. and Gladys (Jordan) Hanscom. She attended Poland Schools and graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1949. When she was 14, she met her soul mate Roger Holt Sr at the Movie Theatre in Mechanic Falls. They married June 12, 1952 and was married 55 years before his death in 2008. She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed going to Poland Beano for many years and was famous there for her amazing Pineapple Squares that she provided weekly for concessions. Her family was the most important thing to her always and she loved holidays and family gatherings. She enjoyed Wordsearches, Wheel of Fortune, playing cards, and watching her birds. Survivors include 3 daughters, Jane Barnaby of Minot, Cindy Rowe of Poland, and Diane Richards and her husband Bruce of Hebron. One son Bill Holt of Poland, 8 grandchildren Brandi Rowe, Randy Rowe, Tracy Ward, Sean Barnaby, Kyle Stetson, Anna Richards, Jessica Herrick, and Brittany Richards, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Besides her husband Roger Sr, she was predeceased by a son Roger Holt Jr, son in law Robert Rowe, great granddaughter Mikayla Herrick, great-great granddaughter Kailey LeClair, her parents, her sisters Pauline Fortier, and Janet Pulsifer and 3 brothers Norris Hanscom Jr, Bill Hanscom and Robert Hanscom. Graveside Services will be held at 10AM, on Saturday August 27,2022, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Brown Road, Poland. In lieu of flowers or donations Betty would want you all to take a loved one for an ice cream or a picnic by the lake. 2 activities she enjoyed in her later years.
