Dolores E. Miller Obituary

Dolores (Dee) Miller, 82, of Exeter died of natural causes on August 4, 2022. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Miller.


Dee Miller was born in Reading and was the daughter of Fannie (Triggs) Wagner and George Wagner.


Mrs. Miller was a professional singer who worked with her husband Joe in the Reading Jazz Quartet, was featured on the same bill as the Four Freshman, working as well with many local jazz musicians including the Curt Harman Trio.


Mrs. Miller was also active in civic and community services. She served on the Berks County Park and Recreation Board from 1977-1988 and was Board Chairman for two terms. She served as a School Director for the Antietam School board as well as serving on the Berks County Redevelopment Authority from 1988-1993 where she was chairman for three terms.


Mrs. Miller also served on the Reading Symphony Orchestra League formerly the ‘Women’s Committee” from 1991 through 2002 as Publicity Chairman and the position of President for one year prior to her retirement.


Mrs. Miller is survived by three daughters; Toni, wife of James Reece, Mt.Penn; Michelle Leinbach, Exeter; and Ann Marie Fanella of Exeter. Grandchildren: Jesse Cronan, Joe Leinbach and his wife Lindsey, Madison Reece, Jamison Fanella and one niece Diane Scornavacchi.


Mrs. Miller was a member of Schwartzwald Lutheran Church.


Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606.
