Eugene Jackson Obituary

Eugene Jackson, III was born to Gloria Ann White and Eugene Jackson, Sr. August 29, 1970 in Waco, Texas. He attended Waco public schools and graduated from University High School. He then attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas (Southwest Texas State University).

Eugene accepted Christ early in age, and became a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He served as a member of the usher board, and found his love for singing while serving in the choir. Eugene was married to Joyliet McCray, and together they had four beautiful children. Eugene managed Jeans West in Richland Mall many years, and was instrumental in it becoming a thriving staple in the community. He then transitioned to become a successful car salesman and later an insurance agent, as his father. He was a comedian at heart and always had a passion for making people laugh. Eugene amused audiences with his stand-up comedy performances after rehearsing with his family and friends.

Eugene met Roshunda Johnson January 13, 2013 and they were married on June 13, 2013. He united with the Living Word Church of God in Christ family where he served faithfully and was licensed as a minister in the Church of God In Christ. During this time he worked with many auxiliaries including the brotherhood, youth department, YPWW, Sunday school teacher, and as the Living Word Christian Academy Board President. Together, he and Roshunda enjoyed working in ministry together, many years of traveling, tasting new foods and completing other elements of their bucket lists. Eugene was the ultimate Dallas Cowboys fan, and Roshunda wash is ultimate supporter. Roshunda's love for Eugene was unquestionable as she cared for and loved him until he finished his course, and by God's grace, went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2022.

Those greeting him in Heaven are his mother, Gloria Ann White; grandfather, Hogan Wigfall; and grandmother, Velma Wigfall. Mourning his demise yet celebrating his homegoing are his wife, Roshunda Jackson; father, Eugene Jackson, Sr.; stepmother, Norma Jackson; siblings; Kevin Jackson (Lisa), and Latoria "Nikki" Harrington; stepbrother, Sylvester Thompson; five daughters: Kiara McBrine, Joela Sharayah Jackson-Holloman, Alicia' Nandi Jackson (John), Whitney Madison (Christiaan),Ashley Johnson; three sons, Brandon Jackson, Jordan Johnson, and Christopher Jackson; 12 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; most special mothers-in-love, Ruby McCray and Eleanora Crosby.
