<p>Gary Joseph Stakely, age 59, passed away July 21, 2022. He graduated from Westland High School in 1981. Gary was currently employed at OSU/The James. He was an avid collector of many things, especially antiques. Preceded in death by mother, Ella Louise; father, Norman Stakely; sister, Pamela Rubio (Orris); brother, Michael S. Stakely. Survived by brother, Thomas G. Stakely; nieces: Tonya Zimmerman (Orris), Sarah Turner (Stakely) and Allison Stakely; nephew, Robert Rubio; many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call Friday, August 12, 2022 from 4-6pm at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 West Broad St.</p>

Gary was a great guy with a kind heart. I remember sending him home with loads of grilled meats I'd made for him and another friend for a Forth of July celebration. He was so polite and thankful. A real sweetheart of a guy. I will miss his boyish charm.

I worked with Gary for 3 years at the James Cancer center on the Bone Marrow Transplant unit. He was a great co worker and friend.. will miss him...
