Well, it actually happened, John E. Jones had beat Death so many times that Death had to go back and get some friends to help.  After 76 years, 1 stroke, 1 exploding ulcer, 1 heart attack, 1 heart failure, 1 cardiac arrest, 2 double lung collapses, kidney disease, and metastatic cancer, on Thursday, August 4, John died peacefully in his sleep.

 

John was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, engineer, sign painter, artist, and a Harley-Davidson Biker.

 

He was hilarious! With a mix between a dark sense of humor and a devil-may-care attitude, he never missed an opportunity to crack a joke no matter how inappropriately timed or socially awkward.

 

He loved mac & cheese, Westerns, hotdogs, every sport, coffee, cigarettes, Coke & peanuts, classic cars, Twizzlers, motorcycle rides, working at Navistar, and sharing his food with the dog then lying about it. 

 

He hated retirement, haircuts, neck ties, uninvited guests, and driving more than 1 hour from home. He didn’t drink, because apparently directing traffic in the middle of an military base wearing only your underwear, combat boots, and helmet sobers you up. 

 

Those who loved John were loved in return, those who didn’t, “F**k ‘em!”

 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Michelle Ann Jones, who is with him now, probably telling him how he did it wrong.

 

He leaves behind his children, Katie (Tim) Allen, Mark Waldron, Scott (Julie) Jones, Joe Jones,  Jeremy Jones, and Gayle Heck, all of whom are probably overanalyzing the order their name appears.

 

John, you ARE a good man. Watch for deer!
