Mariette Dorisse LeMesurier Obituary
Mrs. Mariette LeMesurier, age 82 years, passed away peacefully in the company of loving family in the TBRHSC on Friday, August 5, 2022.
Mariette was born in St. Louis de Gonzague, Quebec on March 16, 1940, the youngest of the 14 children of Wilfrid and Marie Picard. She met Earl LeMesurier at the bush camp and soon after they were married. With the birth of their children, they decided to move the family to Thunder Bay where she had resided ever since.
A woman of high moral character, she dedicated her life to helping others. Her unwavering faith and strong Christian values had her very involved with her longtime parish, Corpus Christi R.C. Church. A very dedicated parishioner, she was involved with the CWL for over 55 years, serving in many different capacities including as Secretary and President. She was also a member of the RCIA for 14 years.
Mariette enjoyed sewing and gifted many with her wonderful baking. Her greatest joy came during time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren for whom she was a very involved grandmother. As the last surviving sibling she worked hard to be there for all of her extended family whenever she could.
Her professional career involved numerous years working with the Canadian Cancer Society where she served as the District Director.
Mariette will be lovingly remembered by her children Paul LeMesurier and Lynda Boshcoff, grandchildren: Jessica, Alecia, Maggie and Alexander, former son-in-law and daughter-in-law Tom and Maureen, special niece and nephew Sherry Floren Picard and Chris Picard, and Goddaughters Sheila Chiodo and Wynona Fullum. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Earl, her parents, and her 13 siblings.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 when family and friends will gather in Corpus Christi R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass beginning at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Victor DeGagne. Those wishing to attend the service virtually may do so through the Sargent & Son Facebook Page. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. with the Vigil Service beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Sargent & Son Funeral Chapel, 21 N. Court Street.
