Edward Jerome McTigue II

<p>Edward Jerome McTigue II, 96, of Leechburg, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Overlook Green Hospice in Pittsburgh.</p> <p>A son of the late Jerome McTigue and Martha (Harrington) McTigue, he was born February 18, 1926 in Oklahoma Borough, PA.</p> <p>Ed served in the U.S. Navy during World War II both in the American and Pacific Theaters.&nbsp; He was the recipient of the Purple Heart among other medals.&nbsp; He had been employed by Allegheny Ludlum in West Leechburg for 42 &frac12; years starting as an inspector, progressing to machine operations and retiring as a supervisor in 1988.&nbsp; Ed had been a member of the former St. Catherine Roman Catholic Church in Leechburg and a die-hard Steeler fan.&nbsp; He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed reading, woodworking, watching Turner classic movies, listening to music (especially Patsy Cline and Jo Stafford), and spending time with his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.</p> <p>Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Mark McTigue of Leechburg; a daughter, Patricia Ann McTigue of Pittsburgh; a daughter-in-law, Laura McTigue; two grandsons, Brandon Scott McTigue of New York and Ryan Matthew McTigue of Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann (Kovalchik) McTigue in 1990; a son, Patrick McTigue in 2014; and sister, Betty McTigue Anthony in 1974.</p> <p>Friends will be welcomed by his family for a Celebration of Life to be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 7-8 p.m. at the Clawson Funeral &amp; Cremation Center, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. &nbsp;Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.</p>
