Lois Fraser Slocum of Stamford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 5, 2022. She was born on December 16, 1936 in Advocate Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada to the late Watson and Alma (Morris) Fraser. Lois was 85 years old at the time of her passing.
Lois moved to Stamford after marrying her husband in 1959 where they raised their family in Springdale. She and her late husband were the owners of the former Handyman Hardware in Springdale.
Lois is predeceased by her husband Charles Slocum, her son Ralph Slocum and her son-in-law Frank Franko. She leaves behind her children; Nancy Franko of Stamford, Lee Slocum of Scranton, PA, Cathy Vitti (Aldo) of Stamford, Cindy Slocum Apablaza (George) of Trumbull CT, Michelle Arvan (Steve) of Stamford; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to The Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County, and to all of her caregivers especially Gina Rodriquez.
Calling hours will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 9th from 4pm to 6pm. A prayer service will take place during visitation.
