Rudy Pinter

Rudolph J. (Rudy) Pinter, 90, of Kansas City Kansas was called home on August 5, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, August 9, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Kansas City, Kansas with the rosary preceding at 4:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 10, 2022 at 10:00 am at Christ the King, Kansas City, Kansas. Rudy will be remembered as a loving husband to his wife of 64 years, Carol (Becky), a warm-hearted father to his six children, and a loving protector to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a devoted friend to many and loved by all who knew him. Grandpa Rudy was a consistent and ever-present prayer warrior for his entire family and was committed to praying the rosary on a daily basis. Rudy was born in Kansas City, Kansas on March 19, 1932 to Rudolph J., Sr. and Mary Pinter. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952-1956 as a Radio Operator for mid-air refueling on a B-29. Rudy’s career as a cattle buyer began at Sambol Packing Company, where he was employed for 18 years. He continued his career with Lafe Wilson Cattle Company before branching out on his own and founding Wyandotte Order Buyers in 1978. He loved his community and impacted the Wyandotte County area through serving 21 years on the Wyandotte County Fair Board and 10 years on the Victory Hills Country Club Board. He was a member of the Kansas Livestock Association and the Northeast Kansas Quarter Horse Association. He served as the Vice President of Parish Council at Christ the King Catholic Church and also served as Eucharistic Minister. He graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1950 and continued to support the work of Bishop Ward in the community by organizing the first Annual Auction in 1978, which is continued today. In addition to his civic contributions, he is lovingly remembered as the founder/CEO of the Beloit Hunting Crew. He spent many hunting seasons with his son and sons-in-law and the JB File crew. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Donald Birdsong, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Becky and his sister Helen Birdsong. Also survived by his children Lori Wright (Tom), Susan Waldeck (Jim), Lynda Higgins (Kerry), Sharon Cook, Sandy Warford (Jimmy), Scott Pinter (Kara). Rudy is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Michael Wright (Emily), children Maxwell and Vivian; Erika Wright Sanchez, children William and Christopher; Adam Waldeck (Ashley), children Jack and Lizzie; Abby Waldeck Bryant (Grant) , children Quinn and Blair; Emma Higgins Miller (Brian), daughter Maisie; Mitchell Higgins, Clara Higgins, Kevin Cook (Sally) and daughter Charlotte; Kyle Cook (Marisha Cayler), Grant Warford, Adelle Warford, Annika Pinter, Caden Pinter, Bryce Pinter and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Vitas Hospice and neighbors and friends for taking such loving care of Rudy during his final months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christ the King Building Fund.
