Jeffrey R. Wagaman, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on August 4, 2022 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband for 58 years of Margaret L. “Margy” (Whisler) Wagaman; the loving father of Denise E. Motter and her husband Bret, of Hanover and Wendy A. Kaehler and her husband Mark, of McSherrystown; the cherished grandfather of Alyssa, Abbey, Matthew, Emily and great-grandfather of Keegan, Connor, Carter, Kohan, Kyleigh, Kolton and baby Kaehler on the way; and the dear brother of Sister Susan Wagaman, S.S.J., Nancy Sanders and her husband Larry, Janice Neiderer and her husband Brad and Dee Robinson and her husband Phil. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond J. and Eileen F. (Livelsberger) Wagaman and his brother, Samuel J. Wagaman. Jeffrey was employed at Utz Quality Foods for 46 years as a maintenance buyer until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Home Association of McSherrystown, the McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, the New Oxford Social Club, S.A.V.E.S. and the former Conewago Fire Company. He loved sports and was an avid fan of the Orioles, Notre Dame and Villanova. He enjoyed playing cards, softball, basketball and bowling. Later in life, he enjoyed golfing. He graduated from Delone Catholic High School in 1961. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing in celebration of Jeffrey’s life on Tuesday, August 9th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with prayers at 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 10th, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by his Funeral Service, 11:00 a.m., with Father Dwight Schlaline officiating, at Murphy-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown.
